What is Frontline Plus?
Frontline Plus is indicated for the treatment and prevention of fleas (Ctenocephalides sp.) on dogs and cats, the control of ticks (paralysis tick and brown dog tick) and the control of biting lice on dogs.
What are the active ingredients in Frontline Plus and how to they work?
Frontline Plus contains two active ingredients. Fipronil is an insect neurotoxin and works by disrupting the passage of nerve messages through the flea, tick or louses' nervous system. This results in the paralysis and death of the parasite. (S)-Methoprene is an insect growth regulator. This active ingredient acts like an insect hormone and interferes with the growth and development of the insect. It can prevent normal moulting ad egg-hatching of the flea.

How often is Frontline Plus applied?
To break the flea life cycle Frontline Plus is applied directly to the skin every 4 weeks. By doing this Frontline Plus ensures that fleas that jump onto your pet will stop feeding, become paralysed and die.
In order to control paralysis ticks on dogs it must be applied every 2 weeks. Brown dog ticks can be controlled with a monthly application.
From what age can Frontline Plus be used?
Frontline Plus is safe to use in dogs and puppies from 8 weeks of age.
Should Frontline Plus be used differently on long and short-haired pets?
The simple answer is no! Frontline Plus moves through the oily coating of the dog's or cat's skin in exactly the same way in long and short-haired breeds. To provide the best care for your pet the correct product for your dog or cat based on its weight must be used though.
How quickly does Frontline Plus work?
Frontline Plus starts killing fleas within 12 to 24 hours of application and this lasts for up to 30 days.
Is Frontline Plus water fast?
Frontline Plus has been tested in dogs to make sure it is not easily rinsed or washed off. It is quick drying and it remains effective after shampooing and swimming. Bathing your pet is not required prior to applying Frontline Plus however your pet should not be allowed to swim or be shampooed within 48 hours after treatment.
Can Frontline Plus be used on pets with itchy skin?
Frontline Plus can be used in the management of pets with very itchy and inflammed skin due to flea bites - also known as flea allergy dermatitis.
Can I use Frontline Plus all year-round?
Fleas are often a year-round problem and so Frontline Plus should be applied every 4 weeks throughout the year.
Can I use Frontline Plus in pregnant or lactating animals?
